The Marshall EMS Training Room has a new name. By unanimous vote, it is now the Roy A Matheny Training Room.

A vote at the October Board of Directors meeting made the surprise change. The new name will honor Roy Matheny, who surprised some guests at the meeting, by announcing his resignation from the Board.

Marshall EMS Training Room

Marshall County Commissioner Chris Duroy appointed Matheny to the Marshall EMS Board of Directors.

Matheny is a retired firefighter for Richardson (TX) Fire Department. He helped establish local volunteer fire service in parts of Marshall County.

The move comes at no cost to taxpayers. Private funds are available to purchase the signage for the classroom. Additionally, Matheny was unaware of the move prior to the presentation.
